Eastern Fat-tailed Gecko, Diplodactylus platyurus

Barcaldine Qld

Fat-tailed geckos don't actually suffer from sudden late-onset obesity, they have fat tails for a specific purpose. They shelter
in spider burrows and use their tail to stop things from getting down the burrow, as well as stopping humidity from getting
out, I imagine. If I were face down in a spider burrow I would be far more concerned about the spider, but I assume they
use empty burrows. But.. how do they find out? This is the question..
