Coke with the Old Kick

Coca-Cola did once contain an estimated nine milligrams of cocaine per glass, but in 1903 it was removed.

Sharp Image Brent. Love the fire, I get an '80s Hollywood bungalow vibe from it - think a white bear skin rug on the floor would put it over the top!

He he, guess I was a little generous with my portions there :-) But I'll tell you, I saw some things at Hollywood parties in the 80's... ;-) Web information on just how much cocaine Coca-Cola used to have seems to be quite varied. But no doubt, it was originally created by a Pharmacist and used to give a lttle more lift than it does today.

The word "generous" springs to mind lol. (And "lethal dose" too!)

LOL @ your take on the subject, Brent. It's a lovely setting.

I heard that in 1902 Coke had less than 6/100 of one ounce of cocaine in over 25 million gallons of syrup (which was then diluted). They kept it in just to maintain their namebrand. It was completely removed in 1929.
