These beautiful and large bell-shaped flowers measured 10 to 12 inches long. We have found flowers of this type (family Solanaceae) in many locations including the U.S. and Mexico, not just in Ecuador. The massive flowers never fail to turn our attention. We were enjoying a closer look at these flowers when a lacrimose mountain tanager showed up too. So you never know what one thing will lead you to on a trip like this.
