Winner - Wanderlust Travel Photo Of The Year (People Category)

After collecting the prize with Noah. He was so excited!

On 1st February 2008 I won the People Category of the Wanderlust Travel Photo Of The Year Competition, sponsored by the Independent, Nikon, Singapore Airline, South Australia Tourism Commission, Rohan and Destinations Travel. The prize is a two week photographic commission to South Australia, amongst other things. The images below cover the ceremony. The winning images were published in "The Independent" newspaper Travel Supplement on 2nd February 2008. I am blown away. K

PS. Flying on SAL is the BEST experience, and no doubt you will have to stopover in Singapore. :-)

Kal: I just saw this great news. My hearty congratulations and very best wishes, my friend. I am so pleased for you, and so happy I can count you as one of my PBase associates. The other great news is that you have a 2 week trip to South Australia, from the place I lived for many years, and you will be able to visit the wonderful vineyards, and the great possibility - a trip to the Flinders Ranges in the Outback. Your camera may melt if you go in mid summer!! but you will find the landscape very captivating. Bravo, my friend. What an honour for you, and what a prize! All you have to do now is learn to speak 'strine. (australian). G'day. Cobber. Mate. Sheila. No worries. Too bloody right. Stone the bloody crows. All that stuff. Cheers, Colin
