Jo, "take care of" is a euphemism, to put it mildly. They are inveterate nibblers, like all parrots! ;-)http://www.pbase.com/fitzdocs/image/6653808

Hi Mike. Excellent theme shot. I had to look a bit closer to find the second bandit. I guess they take care of the grass in the vase?

Sky, its "she" FWIW -- but not easy to tell from this shot: the barring under the wing is the only visible clue. The one on the left is male ;-)
Though I can't be sure of the intent here, as it happens these birds do have the habit of hiding behind tree branches and the like, and it appears to be in their nature. A related trait that you can readily observe both in captivity and in the wild is their tendency to perch with their bodies aligned parallel to the branch, rather than transverse which you would think to be more comfortable. Observers have concluded that it's a self-protective mechanism against predators, since this way they are less visible from above and below. (The fact that it makes them, conversely, MORE visible frontally to the branch... well, you work it out! ;-). Mike

Good grief - this is so cute! Looks like he's playing peek-a-boo. Excellent photo, Mike.
