Access to the Western flank of Loch Droma isn't that easy especially with snow disguising large holes through which feet frequently sink into empty peaty mush, but the two lone Scots pines on this side are a tremendous draw. So I braved the trek across and duly came to a sticky end. As it turns out the two trees are very difficult to photograph satisfactorily and I was about to stomp back when I noticed the superb lighting and colour across loch Droma bounded by the pine trees in deep shadow.
