When frightened by a predatory Eagle, hundreds of Snow Geese will simultaneously take to the sky together in a frenzied panic. Often flying into each other, goose wings can be broken. This, in turn, leaves various individuals helpless and easy prey for the predators. A number of Geese may actually die from their injuries. Those become food for the Scavengers. Besides being predators, Eagles are also scavengers. Therefore, they eventually end up the winner - even if the Geese do escape their initial attack. Surprisingly, the ratio of injured Geese is low in comparison to how many times a day that they will flee in a disorganized, packed crowd. It is an awesome sight to see the sky covered with a sea of white Snow Geese in an age old act of Nature.
