Hi AviBen! I think the reason for the ban on dogs/ cats is because their owners allow them to deficate where people sunbathe and picnic. Also (my opinion) the reason lake Michigan is dangerous is because of the S**t all the lake communities allow to flow into the lake. PS, I enjoyed your photos of the west side of lake Michigan. Evanston is a great place.
