As an educator, I don't like Halloween. I believe it should be banned unless it falls on a Friday - that way there's a couple of days' grace before we have to deal with the sugar high, which is usually gone a couple of days after Halloween once the candy disappears.
Yesterday was a brutal day at work. Teaching was almost impossible, as all the students were concerned about was who's house were they meeting at, blah blah blah. Today was the start of the sugar rush. Many students were almost bouncing off the walls they were so hyped up - candy for breakfast can do that to young children.
Needless to say, my bottle of Ibuprofen has been my friend for the last two days. My head hurts so bad today that I couldn't even focus the lens properly on my camera (too lazy to put it on auto focus).
I'm not against Halloween in general, I just wish that parents would limit the amount of candy that the kids eat, and how much candy they have access to at one time. Is that too much to ask??
