Dusky Blue Hairstreak (Calycopis Isobeon)

Austin, Texas

The Dusky Blue hairstreak is fairly common in south and central Texas especially early summer through and until frost. They commonly visit composite flowers as in the picture on Garden Euryopsis or wild Coreopsis. They can often be found in the shade under cedar elm trees near leaf litter.
