10/26/07 - Another Dahlia

Nice soft rain (a drizzle) made for ideal dahlia macro shooting. This beauty had so much going for it - rain drops, color, texture, curves - that I couldn't decide where to start. I finally backed away a little and included more of the flower than the original macros that I was shooting.
Cropped just a touch from the top (from 3x2 to 5x4) to eliminate some of the non-contributing black (a black disk held in front of the house's siding) - otherwise it's straight from the camera (after RAW to JPEG conversion).
f/32 to get everything - especially the tiny drops and the center - in sharp focus. There was the smallest breeze so with a 1 sec exposure I shot it several times to increase my odds.

Exquisite. I love the sense that she's opening herself up to delight and dance in the rain.
