Byodo-In Temple

In Kyoto Prefecture.

This temple was first built in 998 and changed into a Buddhist temple in 1052.
The main building is called the Phoenix hall as is the only remaining building of
what was a large complex of buildings.

This temple was made into a World Heritage Site in 1994.
