Several things are of interest in this photo. The two gentleman in business suits clustered around home plate are news photographers who were allowed to work on the field during games back then. Also note the sparse crowd, undoubtedly the result of Depression-era economics, weekday afternoon games, and two poor teams playing each other. Player #21 at the left of the photo is future Hall of Famer Arky Vaughan of the Pirates.
