Jesse Jones, CSA, was father of Dr. A.J. Jones, beloved physician and Sunday School Supt. at Blockhouse Church, Jacksonville, Ga. He made it back from the Civil War.

I live in Middleton jones house in lumber city ga.i was told he was Jesse's brother.His home is identical to Jesse's home down the road in Jacksonville ga.

Jesse C. Jones was in Co. B, Ga. 49th, Telfair Volunteers -- I have heard the same thing -- that he changed his last name to Jones but I don't know that -- his son, Dr. A.J. Jones married Lola Williams, sister of my grandmother, Effie Williams (who married a cousin also named Williams) -- I have also heard they came from NC but have not verified it. I know my family, the Williamses, came from Duplin Co., NC, and that could have been the case with the Joneses -- Thanks for visiting the Old Jacksonville, Ga., site. Please keep in touch. This is my GG Grandfather. What else info. do you have on him? What regiment was he in? His Granddaughter is still alive today (my grandmother), and recently gave me a picture of this tombstone she took a few years ago. I also see he a Mason. Did he come from NC? Am told he came from NC and may have changed his last name to Jones. Do not know if this is true.
