Beech Light

Oakwood, Elgin, Moray, Scotland.

This delightful woodland on the outskirts of Elgin known as Oakwood has actually got more Beech trees in it than it's namesake. I have always loved the sombre smooth grey limbs of these trees. On this occasion I felt no need to clutter the composition by extending depth of field, preferring instead to allow the background trees, softly lit by early morning light, to drift out of focus, providing just a suggestion of place.

NEW!! Photographic Holiday at TRANSIENT LIGHT.
