Adult winter. Ringed and wingtagged 2001-03-16 at Kornharpen Deponie outside Dortmund, Germany. After that the bird has been seen yearly a series of winters, dec - march, in nortwest Germany, eg around Dortmund, Bremen and Hannover. The only two readings outside this period is at Simrishamn 2003-10-01 and again 2007-09-09. Does the bird breed in Scandinavia on it´s way to it´s winter quarters in Germany or do the Swedish sightings represent a northward moult migration?
