Louis Harvey Mann was the eighth of nine children born to Lewis Cass Mann & his wife Mary Elizabeth Cox. Louis never married & at 27 years old was drafted into the Army for service in the Great War. He entered service in March of 1918 & was shipped over seas to France that same autumn. Just four days before the armistice was signed, Louis Harvey Mann was killed in action 07 November 1918, on the battlefield in France. As the first casuality from Humboldt, the Legion Hall in Humboldt was named after him.
