Elizabeth Jane Mann was the second child of six born to Morgan Allen Mann & his wife Anna M. Pettit. She was born 04 July 1840 in Spartenburg, Randolph County Indiana. She migrated with her husband John C. Beard to Humboldt, Richardson County Nebraska sometime around 1868. She died in Pawnee City Nebraska on her birthday, 04 July 1930, at the home of her daughter Martha Elizabeth Louisa Beard Reed.
