Aug 7: Sunflowers

Rancho Bernardo, CA

A nearby neighbor has a stand of sunflowers that have kind of a "in your face" feel to them.

@Herb ... Curves is an adjustment layer in Photoshop that allows the user to set input/output along the entire 8 bit color range (256). 0 would be pure black so adjusting to 20 "lightens" the dark end. White would be 255 (no color) so setting it at 244 softens the range. These settings are best for printing, however they can be used for online posts with perhaps a contrast boost.

@virginiacoastline -- the range of the dark to light and colors is a result of using curves to set "black" at 20 and "white" at 244. A lesson learned in class.

I like tha I acan see ALL the detail, even in the shadows
more Kuhler(kuler?) influence, or just natural luck?

This one has a great personality. Stare a while at its face. Beautiful.

Nothing like an in-your-face sunflower to brighten up your morning. Nicely done. Michael.
