1st - C58 Grand Design - Hallo - Marc (Cynops)

This is the staircase from a 5 storey parisian building built in the 1890s in which some German friends are living. The outside of the building is actually in quite a bad condition, but this staircase always caught my eye with the curvature of that wood. To add to it, there's this kind of smell that is not easy to describe, including honeywax, tobacco, coffee... I quite like it, even if it is quite noisy when we come back from restaurants / pubs late at nights !!

okay, so you want to win another competition. what do we care? damn, this is a nice shot. i could have a 3-9mm ultra-wide lens and i still couldn't swing it. the perspective, obviously, is magnificent, but the lush colors of the wood really cap it off.

I just agree with everyone else. This golden wood is really pretty. Kind of nice that they managed to retain its beauty despite letting the exterior go.

I really like this. Okay, love it! The eye spirals downward so easily into the image and the "Hallo" adds just enough. Great shot. dw

Hallo makes the shot! It gives understanding to what the structure is. Without I would have guessed a lighthouse.

At first i thought the "Hallo" thing to sweep your feet was a nuisance in that shot, but in the end it became a funny detail. The building is quite crappy outside, but that old, time-polished staircase is actually beautiful.

What beautiful wood! And how did you arrange to get the Hallo in too? Great stuff Marc. Alistair
