Hey Uncle
Saturnino S. Nanolan 17-Jan-2010 16:42
To Bobby Timonera, Thanks for this site. I am glad to met through this site my nephew that I have as yet to see personally. I am referring to the son of Apolinario Sayatao. Apolinario is my Manoy Toto Sayatao, son of my Tata Tinong. My mother Luciana Sayatao is a younger sister of Tata Tinong. We grew up together at Landing, Patpat then (now a non-existent sitio of San Isidro that was primarily occupied by the Sayataos before the establishment of Menzi Talakag Plantation. Manoy is the eldest and I also wish to meet Manoy Ben, and their other brothers and sisters. I was not able to see Manoy Toto when I came home for a short visit to Talakag sometime ago. But I hope to meet more of our relatives when I get to come home again soon.I am still tied up with my busy sked in Manila. But, again, I hope to be home soon.

WOW!!! The view is great and I am clueless of which part of Talakag is this. I had just been home to our wonderful town last April for vacation after my awesome exposure as an outcast OFW somewhere else... and leat again last August and definitely the places were refreshed back, though I had been home every year since I left the town in 2004 of course. I do love rivers, mountain treks is my passion long distance walking is my frustration and I always look forward to do so with enthusiasm. I gotta hint of opening this page in search of my relatives, the CLAN of SAYATAO... hmmmm.... 'twas great to have the mouse search for our fellows. Well to tell you chaps, my dearly folks my father was formerly the man-of-courage-and-spirit-of-fighting in Talakag decades ago in his younger years when he defeated Eagle in a duel who was known to be the gang head or whatsoever he was termed to be in our town those years. By that time Papa was told by his grandfather-of-his-mother's-clan Tatay "Binanos" a lastname that seemed to be not existing in the map of the town, by the way that surname was the first inhabitant of Wanguilan San Antonio. Well, it seemed like I am making a novel now, this message is for Saturnino Sayatao Nanolan a relative that happened to be known by me thru this page. Anyhow, my father's name is Apolinario "Toto" Binanos Sayatao he is now on his 70's but I'm not certain of how much was the add-up of his age it could be 3 or 4 for he never disclose it to us for he always want to be cool at his younger years and if you mind asking him he would say "60 na ko kapin" a usual reply 10 years ago 'til now of which my Mama always opposes to, though to God be the glory for his strength and health with my Mama comes from GOD. Mr. Saturnino my dear relative, now I know the story of how are we related with the Nanolan's for it is beacause of the late Tatay Tontoy Sayatao my favorite story that I had heard from my Papa at times that he shares us the story of his grandfather Man-Sayatao during the fishing season along the river of Kalawa-ig in their "bisig". I was really puzzled of what was the connection, though I might had asked Papa but passively hears the answer for it. Puzzle was added when I was there last vacation that they shared me something about the death of Nanolan somewhere else in Sto. Nino of which they attended the wake. Now I know, by the way I am the youngest of ten siblings.... a big and happy family fully blessed by God.
To the web page owner Bobby, thank you for the chance. God bless you all chaps and may the bounty of God's grace be with us all in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

kabalangasan?

not so sure but it looks like the view from the top of the old wooden bridge to San Antonio - haven't been back since my family left back in the 60's to move to Misamis Oriental.

To Romy Damiles, brothers Jaime and Cesar Raluto are my first cousins. They are still living in Barangay #1 Poblacion, Talakag, Bukidnon and are doing fine. I am a longtime resident of Manila and I was actually in Manila when you were living in Talakag. I am a Freelance Writer and Research Consultant, currently writing a book on the Higaonon people of Mindanao. My name is Sonny (Saturnino) Sayatao Nanolan. The mother of Jaime and Cesar is the youngest sister of my Mom. And we have our residence in the same Compound in Talakag.

I am a blue-bodied Higaonon born at Patpat Landing, San Isidro. It no longer exists since Gen. Menzi established the Menzi Talakag Pantation in the late 1950s. My grandparents were Amay Tontoy (Sayatao) and Inay Tontoy (Francisca Abogaa Sayatao). I studied at the Talakag Central School and the St. Joseph High School in Talakag, then the Northern Mindanao Technical Institute (where I was the top gtaduate in two courses way back in 1966). I took up Masscomm at the Far Eastern University in Manila and Freelance Journalism with Short Story Writing with the ICS. Boy, am I glad you have this site. What river is that--it appears like the one near my family's land at Imbayao, Talakag, Bukidnon. I just want to greet my fellow Talakagnons and to remind them that I am still very much alive and kicking--though in far away Manila.
