The Relay Tsubame runs a connecting service between the Shinkansen lines at Hakata Station (Fukuoka) and Shin-Yatsushiro station. The Shinkansen line between Hakata and Shin-Yatsushiro is still under construction and is scheduled for completion in 2010. The Relay Tsubame uses the cars that were used on the old Tsubame line which ran between Hakata Station and Nishi-Kagoshima Station (Nishi-Kagoshima is now know as Kagoshima-Chuo). This train has just completed the Relay Tsubame 10 service from Shin-Yatsushiro to Hakata.
