Achieving Oneness with the rock above Negro Bill Canyon

Near Moab, Utah

I make a big deal about visiting Moab to see and experience the weird sandstone landscape there,
but the real reason for my trips is to achieve enlightenment. Reaching a higher state of
consciousness can be acheived by becoming one with the rock. Moab is my preferred destination
for such union because of the unique properties of the sandstone that surrounds the city.

This photo---made with the gracious and ever-serious help of my assistant, Joe Tripod---shows
me close to psychic fusion with a sandstone fin high above Negro Bill Canyon. My route to this
location included a hike up the canyon, which is about 150 feet (45m) below. This view looks
west, toward the side canyon that leads to Morning Glory Natural Bridge. The undulating plateau
in the background is the location of the world-famous Slickrock Trail, a mecca for mountain
bicyclists, motorcyclists, and four-wheel-drive fans.

The rock and I became one.

Horsegoggles, to the best of my knowledge, desert rats do not fall in the wilderness, they topple. This makes your question moot.

At least he's not Beedon around the bush...

If a desert rat falls in the wilderness does it make a sound?

This would be a great image to float past the screen at the beginning of a Twilight Zone episode.

Thank you, Larry. Years of difficult practice enabled me to get this far. I still have far to go. Please ignore the "note to self" in my previous comment.

You are really good at oneness.

In a way I feel it because I AM the rotation. Oneness with sandstone takes the serious devotee into another dimension of awareness.
Note to self: determine what you are talking about.

A mountain of info from Carl. and Lee.
I don't know what to make of this scene,
myself, so I will trust their instincts.
When you are lying there, can you feel the Earth rotating?

I am thankful that during my rock-induced trance no such devices were deployed and activated: oneness with sandstone is adversely affected by gesticulation. Contrary to popular belief, the presence of a small rain puddle does not mitigate the interaction.

i'm expecting one of the mars rovers to roll in the frame soon and activate its alpha particle gesticulation device....
