April 7, 2007 - Killer Snow

It got down to 22 degrees this morning and snowed. Anything that was blooming was killed. It's sad, and probably the latest I've seen a measurable snow, but it is a part of nature. I was afraid that this would happen when everything came out early. I shot the death bow of one of my tulips. They are nearly all flat on the ground with snow on them this morning.

Must be global warming... Actually they say not to confuse "weather" with "climate."

How sad indeed. We have snow too, and I'm grateful mine haven't bloomed yet.
Guest 07-Apr-2007 20:37
Maybe they will recover..I hope so!

Lovely shot despite the sad story, Rich!

The tulip laying on the snow looks like it's bleeding into the white. You captured the death blow perfectly. I just hope it didn't kill my apple blossoms. And V.

gardening is frustrating enough (for me because I'm new at it).. having the snow plaster your flowers like that must be irratating! good job though
