Thanks for the kind words, RK & Techo. Haha, I musta taken 50 pix in about an hour, on this day. Lucky timing, it is. All the rest of the shots had the wings as a blur, but because this is where the wing stops for a millisecond, the shutter could "stop" the movement. I've discovered that to stop the wing in mid-stroke the shutter needs to be at 1/2500s or faster. Whew, those little rascals are fast! Cheers, -mikey

I was thinking the exact same thing as RK. A speeding bullet , exactly :)
Really nice timing!

Thanks for the comments, guys.

Jammy - I did have problems with ants until I strung lite weight mono-filament fishing line between two points with a loop in the center. I then hung the feeder from the loop. The ants don't walk the mono-filament line. They do come to the drips on the ground, tho. You might want to get a feeder with "bee guards" (like a little grid basket), as well. Our bees mob our HB feeders if we don't have guards in place.

Cheers, -mikey

Michael, wow!!
This shot is awesome, love the composition and you captured it in flight so well...
Question here, do you find that ants come to the nectar feeder too or just the hummingbirds?
I'm thinking of getting one.
