The 16 strings are held up with pyramid shaped bridges, who stay movable under the chord and thus make it easy to tune the instrument fast just by moving these bridges. We find these bridges also on the Japanese Koto, The Korean Kayagum and the Chinese Guzheng. The Tranh is the smallest of these zithers.

Auch bei dieser Zither befinden sich, ähnlich wie bei der Koto, Guzheng und Kayagum, unter den Saiten die beweglichen Pyramiden, die ein schnelles Umstimmen ermöglichen. Die vietnamesische Tranh ist die kleinste dieser Kastenzithern und klingt sehr hell.
