This sign is for a long-gone business on Route 66. They must have spent good money on the sign, since
it looks brand new. The white garage behind belongs to Four-Star Tire, which is a successful
independent, family-owned garage and gas station. That's a rarity these days. It competes with a
Shell station across the street.
Thanks. I stumbled on a Route 66 theme, and I think I'll explore it more. It runs very close to my house, so it is an easy target! ;-) I'll mix in some positive views soon. I don't want to give the impression it's all run down. I'm just surprised how much it has changed since I was a kid. Local area stores have lost out to national chains.
