I took a picture of my eye with my Canon PowerShot S1 IS, a custom paper flash diffuser, and a Raynox DCR250 super macro lens.
The image was initially whited out, but I ran it through my photo album web page building program and it automatically increased the contrast and made an 800*600 version of the image among other sizes.
Very sharp image! This would be terrific I bet in b&w with some tweaking. Not that I don't like it in color...but I'm wanting to see this in b&w. Great job on your focusing! jano

Every time I use my super macro lens and paper flash diffuser, I use f/8 for maximum depth of field. I use a 1/250s shutter speed and the flash on full power. I zoom in all the way and set the manual focus to the closest focus and lock it there. I zoom in all the way and move the camera until the object is in focus in the short depth of focus f/3.1 preview, then I zoom out to the required zoom distance and take the shot while being careful not to move the camera or object, which changes the focal point.
