Frieze from a temple for Athena in Assos, built 540-525 BC and curious not only for beiung the largest building in the Troad at the time, but for being a mix of Doric metopes and Ionic frieze as well as including scenes of Heracles. This may indicate that the builders wished to look towards Athens (where such mixes were common) and away from Persia, that recently had taken control of Anatolia, including the Troad.
