Nice. I guess this one was taken after a visit at our coffee shop :)

Love the contradiction here! Very interesting monochrome photo Jennifer.

Yes, besides brilliant scale incongruity and juxtaposition, it's your great vision and timing. I like the way you captured the man as if he's about to touch her hand as she reached out, passing the others, with a love smitten look. Was he fantasizing? The words "always like me" seemed to reflect his thought or perhaps hers too :-)

Playing with scale. The lack of a real focal point works so well in this picture and leaves one somewhat disorientated. You are so good at seeing these moments. This is also a lesson of when is the right time to use monochrome.

***A very incongruous scale relationshop - anarchic, chaotic, just like urban life itself. While very busy, and somewhat confusing, this image is an expressive example of street photography. I like what Daniel noted -- that this image makes something very common look like a "different world." And that is your gift, Jen -- you consistently make the ordinary into the extraordinary.

We may not permit that BIG advertisements made us small...on the other hand we lost these great opportiunities for a shot like yours! This kind of shots are in focus of my photography too! I definitely love it!

Hello Loren & Jen...
It's a good question... Loren.
Also have the same question as you do...
Well... Im new in photography.... First time I had ever read the word "juxtaposition" was here, looking at Jen's photos.. I dont know many things... But I find this photos pretty unique, making something common look like a different world..
I dont think its all about Shanghai... This it's all around the world... Big advertisments with little people walking below them.

hi jen...I going to ask a question rather than comment...the question comes from my very incomplete understanding of both present Shanghai media ( I know some ) and your motives...the big-guy, little-guy theme is showing up often in your presentations...the reltionship of close proximity huge-scale differences....does this reflect something about China in general or is this some of the things that are happening with media presenters making big pictures and applying them in many venues?...you then able to see delightful juxtapositions?....which this one is...
