Gaurav,

Thanks for your comments here and elsewhere...the reason was distance. The dock area was quite close...but there was more water behind that before the city which was further back in the haze. The telephoto has stacked them together in this composition to give two layers - the foreground one silhouetted against the background one.

I was wondering why the two silhouettes are different. Is it because one is near water ?
