Although the best light of the day had subsided the clouds duly bubbled up and formed lovely lentil shapes that floated over the mountain tops.

"Lenticular" means "lens-shaped", not "eye-shaped".

This is a beauty. The cloud shapes over the mountans are called lenticular becase many look like the shape of an eye
