Just before sunrise and my favourite of the Mono Lake shots the colours are soft pink and ethereal the calcified plants at the edge of Mono lake sparkle yet the detail revealed by light that wraps around the complex shapes of the tufas shows incredible textural detail without the usual associated harsh shadows.

Perfect light for the subject - the foreground elements soften the tufas and tie in well with the pinks in the sky.
