Yeah - I like this version a lot better. The main subject fly is now nicely framed by a halo of oof bugs. Your eye can wander a bit through the image, but your always brought back to the subject.

Thanks for the comments. Bob, the "circular blur" is the effect of the narrow focus plane which cuts the fly in the middle. Larger DOF is not better, it gives more sharpness on the bugs near to the "main mummy" only (which appears more distracting then IMHO). I agree that the sharpness in the left and right moths looks a bit distracting, I tried to apply a little blur on them and I think the picture focuses on the main figure better this way. MCsaba
As craetive & admirable as your other images. Sir, you are an institution!

Boy, I hope that's not your kitchen ;)
Coincidentally, (in an attempt to recapture my youth LOL) I've been slowly buying CDs that I used to own on vinyl. Last one was Tubular Bells. Might have to give TKF (soundtrack?) a try.
Nice shot. Great detail on the central bug. Has a mummified look where, if you were to touch the fly, it would just crumble to dust. Shallow DOF is nice, but I could also see this working with a deeper DOF too.
On thee fly at the left, there seems to be a circular blur, between two sharper bits if abdomen (maybe a wing?) just curious.
Th other thing I thought I'd mention is the fly on the far right that seems to be as sharp (or at least nearly so) as the main subject. Because they are so similar vis a vis the rest of the image, I find my gaze being drawn to the left and out of frame.
I like the grid (I assume this is for counting the dead bugs?) especially in view of the theme you choose.
