After one canoes across String Lake there is a mandatory portage (canoe carry) to Leigh Lake. In the photo is the point at which you reach Leigh Lake to launch the canoe. It also provides a very nice aspect of Mt. Moran. In dead center of the photo you can make out The Black Dike which is very close to the route that we would take to the summit.

It is worth mentioning that Leigh Lake is extraordinarily beautiful, and is chocked full of Lake Trout. Leigh Lake would be a worthy trip in it's own right, and there are indeed campsites peppered along it's shore.
