Rice hulls are fed into the hopper on the right which fuels the fire which boils the clay pot on the left with the milky liquid in it. The liquid is the starch from the rice, once it is cooked (turning starch into sugars, just like mashing barley) the yeast (home made stored in clay jars with cloth on them, not in picture) is added.
