"A Photographer is Born " Wanda 07_23_06.jpg

This morning Wanda and I were sitting on the back patio sipping our morning coffee and reading the Sunday paper. Wanda saw a momma pheasant and her chicks wandering in the yard. She yelled at me to run and get her camera. (Have you noticed that the 20D is now "her" camera?) Of course I went in the house and retrieved both cameras. The thought of Wanda running around in the yard in nothing but a silk bathrobe, that blows open with the slightest breeze, was irresistible... no I'm not showing you those photos.

I think her sticking her tongue out at me was an attempt at ruining my photo. Heck she is just out of bed, no makeup, hair tussled and pretty close to naked. Who could blame her for making a face?

Oh, here is what she was chasing, barefoot and half naked, into the neighbors fresh cut hay

carrying THAT lens around, she won't have to work out her upper body!

cute as can be, Wanda!

It is the expansion seams in the concrete ... it does look odd in this photo because it matches the robe so well. This is a crop from another shot a step or two earlier it shows well here.

What is the ghosting/mirage thing on the left side under the camera? Nice candid Wanda!

You just HAD to tell me about the pictures of Wanda with her silk robe blowing open in the breeze, didn't you? OK I'll admit it. It made my day. I'll take Wanda with no makeup anyday over just about any woman you can name totally made up.

I TOTALLY understand her POV . . after all when you've got that kinda lens to hang on to and keep steady, who has TIME for the other stuff that has to be hung on to . . . and every woman is allowed SOME time to be make-up-less . . hear!hear! WB . . I'd stivk my tongue out too . . hehehehe

Feel the need to say... Wanda looks younger here than I've ever seen her look before... (you always look good of course), but this look takes 10 years off IMO 8-)

Ok, first of all, I didn't "yell", I "squealed"! . . there IS a difference. Bill KNOWS when I am really yelling at him. (wifely smile)

I wonder how many other photographers have been totally distracted by the moment that they don't even stop to think about what they are wearing (or not wearing) at the time? It's a good thing it was a Sunday morning and My neighbors were either still in bed or at church! I lucked out and not a single car drove by while I was out in the yard in hot pursuit of the baby pheasants. Sad thing is, I never did get a good shot of the little critters. They were not interested in posing for Me. (frowny face)

My wife and I are still grinning. Lovely to see real people having fun. And of course it's her camera......but I recommend you watch your 5D. It's got her name all over it!!!
