This is one of the largest mortars in the United States, located at Fort DeSoto, Florida.

I used a contrast boost and color fade to age the picture.

You're actually pretty spot-on. Construction began on the fort in 1898, completed in 1900, when 8 of these huge 12-inch mortars were shipped down from New York, where they were built. The fort never saw action...it was meant to protect Tampa harbor in the event of an invasion. During WWII, the fort and surrounding area was used as a firing and bombing test range. It became a park in the 1960s.

Wow, that's an old one alright, it dates back to at least 1898 and is probably older than that. You did a fantastic job with your post processing too Justin, I like the results. This is another really nice entry for the "Something Old" theme of this challenge.
