Tracks

Near Delicate Arch (Arches National Park)

Just above the sandstone bulge seen in the previous photo I headed up this sandy depression
toward the mouth of a canyon behind Delicate Arch and its neighboring ridge points. Suddenly
I encountered these tracks, which I guessed to have been made by deer. The bamboo stick
is six feet (1.8m) long; the colored markings thereon are one foot (30cm) apart.
Note the patterns in the sand created by the blades of grass.
