This blind would get extremely hot so I would take off my clothes and hang them in the back on some branches. One day I was sitting in the blind when a wind came up and blew my shirt off the branch it was hanging on. A rattle snake went off and I couldn't see it. I froze except for my eyes and turned my head slightly from side to side but still could not find the serpent.
I was looking over my shoulder as far as I could when the snake slid into view. He was 6 inches away from my backside and oozing down the hill. He had crawled into the blind and then slid down some sand.
He moved very slowly toward the back of the blind and once out picked up speed and disappeared. It took me ten minutes to shake off the adrenaline rush.
