This is a heavy crop, and the shot has some exposure problems, but it's presented here because of the Kiss rocker tongue thing. I have shot thousands of fly pictures (you might have guessed) and this is, without hesitation, the largest (proportionate-wise) "sucking mouth part" that I have had the um, pleasure, to see. Yikes, nasty, and please accept my apologies. All in the pursuit of understanding that which is typically less than apparent.
