This was taken in an area called "Big Flat," just after turning left to stay on Highway 313. Had I
gone straight, I would have ended up at Canyonlands National Park. Here the terrrain is mostly
grassland; its blandness contrasts sharply with what lies beyond the precipice in the distance (such
as at far right). Dead Horse Point State Park is at that precipice, but more to the left and out of view.
