You must be careful, Xin, when you make images that use this technique. Unless the technique itself defines meaning, you risk using form for the sake of form, and using a graphic cliche at that. If this image is a work of fantasy, a personal expression about, as Ira mentions, her isolation from her classmates and perhaps from society, what you have done to her is fine. But if this image is intended to reflect reality as street photography, what you have done is to call attention to the technique you used at the expense of the content.

This idea is often used, and mostly used as a clever, interest grabbing device. Be very careful, Xin, how you treat photographs if truth and fact are important to our expression.

Another great one Sheena. What strikes me most is her seeming isolation with the school bus in the background.
