My sixth day of porches/galleries/verandas.
This small cottage has a porch/gallery where children play when it is too hot or rainy to go outdoors. The swing on the end is a necessity on a southern porch. The hollowed out tree on the stand was once used as a water trough for farm animals. The owner is a collector of antiques and rare findings.
The walls in this house are very thick and made of plaster. We spent Hurricane Gustav in this house in 2008 and could not hear the horrendous crashings of trees and the 100 mph winds that roared by. Only when morning came and we could go out into the town did we realize what a bad storm it was.
