May 28, 2006

The level of enjoyment derived from a climbing trip is dependent on a few simple factors...the cooperation of the weather, quality of rock, extent of crowds, aggressiveness of insects, and the nature of the company. I have to say, the company is definitely the most important.
Let's see...the mosquitos and ticks feasted, the rain fell, the rock was damp from the rain, and it was a challenge sharing the few climbable routes with hundreds of fellow climbers on Memorial Day weekend.
But, it was a fantastic trip.
I couldn't have asked for a nicer group of people with whom to share a house...generous, and considerate, but spirited as well. That includes Viera who I've only recently been lucky enough to get know...and I say that even though she pointed out to me several times that the back of my head is slopy and ill-shaped.

I dont know that she said ill-shaped. I do however, recall the idea of a nice sloper hold which might even be crimped slightly. ;-)

You're right Fu, your head is shaped a bit differently from others, but your grilling skills are outstanding -- just like your photos!!!
