I often see and sometimes climb with Avik at the rock gym. It's always great to bump into him because of the enthusiasm that he has and shares. But, it is on these rare trips outside that I get to see Avik in his element. He has a comfort level outside that is quite impressive and rare in this day and age of indoor climbing gyms. I needed to shoot my portrait for today and Avik quickly obliged, polishing off this route so quickly that I couldn't even get settled enough to shoot a sharp photo. He does the same without hesitation for less experienced climbers, putting up ropes for all to enjoy.
