Curly and His Girls

For the last few deer shots, I switched to a D 200, my new toy. I decided to us it as a back up for the D2x and it worked fine. I was missing wildlife shots switching between long lenses for wildlife and shorter lenses for scenics and I was getting a ton of dirt on the D2x sensor. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Wow this is super what a capture. In the slideshow it looked just like a butterfly in the background on this. And it still looks like one but I think it's some kind of filtered light. Very interesting. GMV

Great shot. I'm still amazed at how close you can get to these deer. Even at 200mm you couldn't have been more than 20-30 feet from them. Great capture and great color.

Beautiful shot. It reminds me of the background of a Renaissance painting. Well done.

Wow! Didn't have time to read all of the comments...so sorry if I have echoed others, but the lighting is spectacular!

I know what you mean. It is tiring changing lenses. I just hate not to have the big file the D2X give me.
Great shot, by the way. Looks like Curly has accepted you as one of his own.

Excellent shot Buz. Its alway a good idea to have a spare body. There are so many excellent cameras it's a matter of choice..leica,nikon,canon. The main thing is to get to know it well and what it can do. Remember that the most important thing is the lens...take care...Ron

I am trying to convince my budget to buy a second body for the same reason. Not much success here. Very nice shot

I have no problem with dirt on my sensor.... :) Are you going to buy a body for each lens? I like the dark mood in this image Buz... :)
Gayle P. Clement25-May-2006 12:22
Congratulations on that new camera. Your reason sounds like a great one to buy a D200.

Beautiful light and depth to this one.
Guest 25-May-2006 11:53
Superb capture, Buz.
On the gear side, I am using fixed lense most of the time, and yes, get a lot of dust... The second camera would be nice.

A magnificent shot, Buz. :) Such rich colors. It feels like you captured an undisturbed moment in the forrest. Curly is one busy guy. :)

(And you wanted the new toy!) Whatever the story, I enjoy every image. It's nice getting to know Curly and his harem.
