This is the upper floor of the dry canyon. The white ribbon in the bush tells me this
is where to turn right (south) and ascend to reach the starting point of a traverse in
the opposite direction. The original size image reveals two more white ribbons, higher.
The next photo is a close-up view of the ascent route (the depression just right of
center). Here the ribbon was superfluous, as I could have followed my footprints.
