Thanks, Helen and Katherine for the feedback. I like the red one too. In the last challenge I was trying to change green into red by inverting the image. I finally figured out to use hue/saturation and it's a lot easier. The things I like about the green version are the background as KK points out, and the pp is a little better. The red version has a white ring around the flower. I think I'll post it in Exhibition anyway.

Cool shot - I love the treatment you did to the background!

Very creatively done! I must admit that I like the red background the best -- very strong contrast -- but this is nice as well. Helen

I put some things in the Demo folder. The original photo that this was created from is here:http://www.pbase.com/stfchallenge/image/60469119 . The landscape version that I replaced with this one is here:http://www.pbase.com/stfchallenge/image/60469161 and another version is here:http://www.pbase.com/stfchallenge/image/60469212 . I hope they are interesting, and I'm looking forward to some opinions about what might work best.

Before and after posting this guy, I kept playing with it. I went through many versions. I chose this one because I didn't leave a halo around the flower, and because I liked the psychedelic background - that gave me the title. I want to change it to vertical orientation, I think. If I post a few versions in the demo folder, perhaps you guys and gals can give me something to think about.

I really like this shot for the fact that I had to look at it a few times before figuring out what it was. The color adjustments really emphasize the contrasting patterns of the object and the background, more so than would be evident if the image was left in its natural colors!
