Hyalophora euryalus - Ceanothus Silk Moth 8.jpg

This is not an Alberta species, although it does occur in B.C. a short distance across the border from Alberta. This was a specimen raised from eggs collected near Fernie B.C. There is a potential for this moth to occur in Alberta in the Crowsnest Pass/Waterton area, and for this reason I decided to include it. This species is very similar to Hyalophora columbia gloveri, Glover's Silk, and it takes a trained eye to differentiate the two species.
